Meet Our Team

The dynamic husband and wife duo, Karina & Lazaro Chiaffarano, started Petsitting by Kar as an extension of the passion that Karina has for animals working as a CVT in surgery. As pet owners themselves, they have experience with dogs, cats, birds and even reptiles.

It’s important to get to know your furbaby care provider, as you are trusting us with a member of the family, so here is a little bit about Kar and Laz!

Karina

Karina has extensive experience with animals– from nursing and being a veterinary anesthesia technician for 11 years at Miami Veterinary Specialists. She started pet sitting on the side during college and has developed long lasting relationships with her clients through the years. Being a CVT, she gladly offers different forms of in-home care & medicine administration including; insulin injections, Subcutaneous fluid therapy, nail trims, ear cleanings, wound care and is CPR certified. Her love of animals is her passion and making sure her clients pets are happy, healthy & comfortable is her #1 priority.

Lazaro

Lazaro’s passion for animals was born out of his love for Karina & their chihuahua Bubu, when he met them 5 years ago. They met while swimming with sea turtles on vacation! After witnessing Karina’s love of animals at work and caring for Bubita he started to help her with pet sitting and has not stopped since! He believes that Karina is todays “Dr. Doolittle” and is awed at how she can form instant connections with dogs and cats.

What to Bring

Bring Your Own Food

Use small plastic baggies to package pre-measured meals and label them Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Medicine & supplements

Make sure to include the appropriate number of doses that your dog will need to take in your absence.

Favorite toys

Even though we're equipped with all sorts of toys, almost every dog has their favorites that they just can't live without.

At least 1 leash

It's always a good idea to include 2 in case the other is lost. If you don't have more than one, we'll give you.

Be sure that all required documents and forms are ready to present on drop off day. Contact us for more info.

A reminder of Home

To keep your dog feeling close to you even in your absence, include something with your scent, ex. scarf.

Sleepover & Visits

Sleepover for 1 dog per day $60
Sleepover for 2 dogs per day: $90

For the doggies and kitties that prefer to stay in the familiarity of their own home, we offer home visits. This includes, walking, feeding, changing water/litter and medicine administration if needed.

Once daily visits: $30
Twice daily visits: $50

Cancellation policy: 50% of Fee is Due if cancel within 7 days of scheduled date

Homemade Dog Treats

We offer Healthy homemade dog treats in 2 flavors (peanut butter apple & Carrot apple) Carefully made with organic ingredients and packaged in a mason jar with ingredients list and guaranteed analysis.
